I’m moving to INDIA!!!

I love to dream. Yes, I like to dream when I sleep, but I’m talking about dreaming while I’m awake and fully aware of my thoughts and emotions. Waking up on a Saturday morning, no plans in sight, and sitting down with a cup of coffee, journal, and pen. There’s just something about letting go of reality for a second and embracing the impossible visions in your head. But I say impossible extremely lightly. Often we tell ourselves we can’t accomplish the very things we most desire to do. WHY? Whyyyy would we take a step back and look at the dreams we have for ourselves, get pumped at the possibilities, and then decide it’s too much? We’re afraid of failure. Afraid of looking foolish. Afraid of not making the mark we set for ourselves. Afraid of the risk.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a deep, deep passion for chasing after my dreams and pushing others to chase after theirs. Not because I think it sounds cool. Not because I have a little hope that maybe, one day, someone’s dream will come true. No. I’m passionate because I’ve seen dreams come true over and over and over again. I’ve seen the impossible become reality. I’ve seen seas parted and mountains moved. I’ve seen the Lord’s faithfulness when we simply take tiny steps through the smallest crack of an open door. And then I’ve seen those doors fly wide open.

So please- for yourself, for the world, and for the King of kings- FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS. Maybe you have a dream to go to college. Maybe you have a dream to swim in the ocean. Maybe you have a dream to start your own business. Believe in it. Chase it. Live it.

I AM MOVING TO INDIA!!!!

I was in high school when the Lord first put long-term missions in India on my heart. Then I went on the World Race, where I got to live in India for three months, and I’ve never struggled to leave a place as much as I struggled to leave there. I knew I would be back. Now I’m at the Center for Global Action, where my love for people and desire to lead a life giving glory to the Lord has only grown. And at the same time, I have joined staff at Adventures in Missions as the Adventures India Humanitarian Project Lead!

So this fall I will be moving to Hyderabad, India to live at the Adventures base for 2 years with a team already there. The base and our ministry partner, India Christian Ministries, are highly focused on church planting, as the pastors’ goal is to plant 25,000 churches (18,000 of those in the next 3 years). My job is to join that vision and do the required ministry research, including finding villages to send short-term teams to, interviewing current pastors in Nalgonda (a rural district our ministry is focused on), creating strategic maps of the intended church planting action plan, etc.

I AM SO EXCITED. I’m living one of my biggest dreams, simply because I stepped through a crack in a door, and the Lord swung it wide open.
